SOD INSTALLATION
Sod, or turf, consists of a thick layer of grass along with 1 to 2 inches of soil, carefully cut from the ground. It usually comes in either square slabs or rectangular rolls. The square slabs are laid directly onto the soil, while the rectangular rolls are unrolled across the surface. Before installation, the soil is prepared to ensure the new sod can take root effectively.
The sod’s grass and soil layers are held together by the root system or a thin biodegradable material. Sod is an excellent option for quickly establishing a lawn, especially in areas where seeding may be too costly or where seeds could be blown away.
